JCCNS Board


 

We are a parent-run school.  We encourage participation
in the Board of the school. You’ll get to interact with
the other parents, sharing issues or concerns and affect
your child’s educational future.

 

 

Coordinator: Responsible for overseeing the Board; working in larger organization and policy issues; arranging and running meetings once a month; maintaining the most complete record of Nursery School business, activities, etc.; being in charge of larger maintenance issues.

Registrar: Liaison to Parents of Prospective Students; addresses parents’ questions about the school, tuition and available slots; maintains accurate and up-to-date files of information on each student; advertises the Nursery School and its Open House with flyers and print ads.

Treasurer: Maintains financial records for the Nursery School; writes checks, collects tuition and other fees, prepares materials to help the board make financial decisions.

Secretary: Assistant to the Coordinator, and will keep parents informed about Board meetings and pertinent issues that come up during meetings. Please let the secretary know if you have any issues you want the board to address during upcoming meetings.

Teacher Liaison: Responsible to find teachers and substitutes when our teachers cannot be in the classroom; represents interests to the board; keeps records of the teachers: resume, police clearance, contracts, evaluations, etc.; discusses problems that arise with parents and/or children, or with any of the aides/teachers.

Supplies and Snacks: Purchases supplies for the Nursery School, including paper goods, cleaning supplies, and snacks.

Religious Affairs: Documents the religious traditions of the school regarding curriculum and school policies, making sure that traditions and standards are followed in our classroom; solves questions and problems that arise regarding religious matters.

Field Trip Coordinator: Plans field trips; helps teachers with ideas for field trips; collects permission forms and money (if needed) for each individual trip; makes sure we have enough transportation and car seats for various events.

Maintenance: This person takes care of minor repairs in the classroom.

Scholastic Books: Handles the distribution and placement of book orders.
